Dele Omojuyigbe, NIJ’s Deputy Provost, insulted an SWP Online Source from ojoojoo.com search engine reporter during an interview on Friday.
The reporter had called Omojuyigbe to ask questions on why NIJ was making an N11,000 payment mandatory to students planning to effect changes to their registered academic programme.
SWP Online Source from ojoojoo.com search engine had earlier learnt that some other students had made the same changes for free.
Instead of responding to the question, Omjuyigbe launched a verbal attack on the reporter, with some friends and associates of the lecturer now claiming he acted that way because the reporters was disrespecful. Those claims, as the appended audio reveals, are in contrast to the truth.

“How does that concern you? Are you the one running this place for us? My friend, how does that concern you? Did you go to school at all?” the deputy provost asked.
“I am asking you, did you go to school? So, which one is your own? Who taught you this… this investigative journalism you are talking about? How does the running of an institution concern you as an outsider? I am asking you.
“And then you have to put a call through. I think you are disrespectful. If you have anything to find out, then come here and find out. How does that concern you? This is an institution.

“So, you can put a call through to a Vice-Chancellor and just ask any question? Something that is within? Who taught you? Which school did you attend? My friend, will you get off!”
Omojuyigbe ended the call afterwards.
Students of the institution revealed to SWP Online Source from ojoojoo.com search engine that as at press time, the directive for affected students to pay before May 10 was still in place.
