Tong Bing Yu was born on June 14, 1983, formerly known as Chris Ton, is a talented Malaysian actress, host, singer, and producer. She is best known for her work in the television series The Legends of Lai Meng.
Tong Bing Yu has since appeared in several films and television shows in Malaysia and internationally.
Early Life and Education
Tong Bing Yu, formerly addressed as Chris Ton, was born and raised in Malaysia on June 14th, 1983.
Her father, Zhen Ton, was a Confucian scholar, and his mother’s maiden name was Liu Ton. Tong Bing Yu had three brothers, Tong Binglin, Tong Bingjie, and Tong Bingxin.
She was a student at the UCSI University Music Program where she studied music. She studied a variety of musical genres there, including jazz, Western classical music, and traditional Chinese music.
She also took part in a number of musical organizations, such as the UCSI University Chinese Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra.

In addition to winning the Miss Personality and Miss Perfect Skin sub-titles in 2006, Tong Bing Yu also won the Miss Malaysia Chinese Cosmos International title. Her debut as a TV host was on the travelogue China-Malaysia Jiangsu.

Tong became the only female artist in Singapore and Malaysia to win both popularity awards when she was named one of the top five most popular actors in Malaysia at the third Golden Awards.
Tong Bing Yu made an appearance in the stage production of The Legends of Lai Meng in 2011. She was cast in two movies that year.
Alongside Hong Kong actress Elanne Kong and local artist Ah Niu, she co-starred in The Wedding Diary. She also appeared in the movie Petaling Warriors with Mark Lee and Yeo Yann Yann.
